Sudbury business - Showroom now at Northern Air

Posted By HAROLD CARMICHAEL THE SUDBURY STAR

It is time to give customers a better look at the wide variety of products that are available.

That's the thinking behind an expansion by Northern Air ClimateCare at 1360 Kelly Lake Rd. into the new Corsi building next door to produce a 2,000-square-foot showroom that can properly show off furnace, air conditioning, gas fireplace and other products the business carries.

"So, when customers come in now, they can see the products, how the furnaces work," said Leslie Moody, Northern Air ClimateCare's marketing co-ordinator. " A service adviser will still need to go to their home (for measurements), but it helps the people when they come in to see what it looks like. I think it's really great for the fireplaces. You get a sense of what they will look like (in your home)."

The 250-square-foot reception area at the office on the west side of the Mid City Interiors and Carpet building complex used to be where the old showroom area was located.

The new showroom was in the final stages of completion this week and was to be ready for the grand opening today. The project was two years in the making, said Moody.

"Right now, we have the furnaces on pedestals, the AC along a wall and the fireplaces along the back," she said.

Saturday's grand opening ceremony for the new showroom will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and feature a barbecue.

"We wanted a way to better serve our current and future customers, which is why we built a brand new 2,000-square-foot showroom," added Brian Eadie, Northern Air ClimateCare's president. "We're quite excited that people can now come in and see the products prior to purchasing and learn about that product at the same time."

Northern Air ClimateCare, which joined the ClimateCare co-operative group of companies in 2008, has been in business since 1989. It used to be known as Northern Air Mechanical Systems.

Northern Air ClimateCare recently started servicing the Espanola area, the number 869-HEAT in place for residents of the pulp and paper town to specifically call.

Northern Air ClimateCare has more than 40 staff. The total includes office staff, sheet metal shop employees and service technicians.

ClimateCare member companies feature product lines such as Lennox furnaces, GeoSmart geo-thermal products and Rinnai natural gas water heaters.

Northern Air ClimateCare staff hosted the annual general meeting of the ClimateCare cooperative network at the Howard Johnson Hotel this week. More than 50 representatives from ClimateCare members across Ontario attended. Established in 1992, the cooperative is headquartered in Burlington and is Canada's largest heating and cooling cooperative.

"If people want to come in and ask questions or talk to somebody, if they want to make an appointment, they can stop in or call us at 669-HEAT," said Moody.

Northern Air ClimateCare's website is www.669-heat.com.
